Since 1997 KOCH Classics has been under the A&R direction of Susan Napodano-DelGiorno.
The first recording for the label was the world premiere
of Leonard Bernstein's Arias and Barcarolles, which hit
the Billboard charts and won a Grammy Award for "Best Contemporary Composition." Since then, the label has won a Grammy Award for another world premiere, Samuel Barber's choral masterpiece, The Lovers, with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra. The fourth Grammy was awarded in 1994 for
The Art of Arleen Auger. KOCH International Classics has
also received four of NAIRD's prestigious Indie Awards
and a German Echo award.
This past year Susan DelGiorno has earned several Grammy Award nominations for her recordings of Peter Pan by Leonard Bernstein and the Imani Winds' release Classical Underground.
In the past few years Susan Delgiorno has introduced new recordings by composers and performers such as; Chris Brubeck, Christopher Rouse, Steven R. Gerber, Maya Beiser (cello), Richard Savino (baroque guitar), Thomas Tirino (piano), Lionheart (mens chorus), and many others.
A recent recording by pianist Sara Davis Beuchner of the piano music of Friml was featured in the New York Times' year end best of recordings. This recording of Friml's piano music remains a best selling CD for the KOCH label.
